About products and suppliers

A tarp, short for tarpaulin, is a large sheet of water- and fire-resistant cloth used for protecting exposed objects or areas. Usually made of nylon, canvas, or durable plastics, tarps are versatile, long-lasting, and easy to set.

Use and benefits of tarps

Tarpaulins can be found in numerous scenes. First, industrial-grade mining tarps are suitable for mining operations. Also, those strong waterproof tarps can be used for most industrial machines to prevent them from getting corrupted. Tarps for trucks can protect goods from falling, making travels much more secure. Besides that, outdoor tarps can be used for camping, covering utensils in case of rain. At home, they can serve larger objects that are less often used. Why do people tend to use tarps so widely and frequently? There are mainly two reasons. For one thing, most tarpaulins available on the market are waterproof, making them useful in protecting goods or spaces from rain or moisture. Also, they can protect objects from acids, oils, mildew, and even sunlight. In this way, things covered by tarps will enjoy a longer life. For another, tarps are often abrasive-resistant, which means that they can be recycled, thus being environmentally friendly.

Types of tarps

There are multiple different types of tarps. One of the most common types is nylon tarps. This type of elastic and durable tarp is ideal for long-term outdoor use. Another common type is canvas tarps. Canvas tarps are usually coated with wax which makes them more water-repellant. Treated canvas can even provide protection from sun rays, thus preventing goods from fading. Made of fibers that withstand high temperatures, they're even a great option for transporting materials like asphalt in brutally hot weather. Furthermore, breathable mesh tarps, which have small holes between thread fabrics, are most likely to be used for securing sand and gravel in the back of the truck. What's more, clear plastic tarps can be frequently found in construction sites where workers need a clear view of the areas covered.
