About products and suppliers

A coat rack is a piece of furniture with pegs or hooks for hanging clothes temporarily. It is also called a coat stand, coat rack stand, hat stand, hat rack, clothes hanger rack, or coat hanger. While the name suggests that it's for coat hanging, you can use a coat tree for other types of clothing. It's commonly placed in entryways for coat hanging for homeowners or guests. A coat stand can also be placed in the corner of a room to hang hats, towels, scarves, bags, or coats.

What are the Different Types of Coat Racks?

There are four major types of coat racks; wall mounted coat racks, standalone coat racks, corner wall coat racks, and compact coat racks. Each of these four major types has a wide range of sub-types. Some subtypes of standalone coat trees are artisan coat racks, wooden standalone coat racks, metal standalone coat racks, and plastic standalone coat racks. Some subtypes of wall mounted coat racks are wooden wall coat racks, plastic wall mounted coat racks, and metal wall coat racks. These coat rack sub-types all come in a variety of designs. Some are upright, some stick to the side, some have foot stands, and some have tires for easy movement. Standalone coat racks are upright poles with many pegs or hooks placed in a room's corner. They require you to have a bit of space but only a little. Wall mounted coat racks are nailed to the wall and are perfect for those who need more room for standalone racks. Compact coat racks have hooks or rungs that can be folded in and only stick out when needed. They typically come with up to eight pegs or rungs and can fall under wall coat racks. Corner wall coat racks are a type of wall mounted rack that helps you save space in your room. They are like a wall shelf with hooks. They come with cabinets for storing bags, hats, shoes, and other clothing that can fit.

How to Choose a Coat Rack

Choosing the best coat rack stand depends on your space, usage, home design, and taste. If you want to put the rack in your bedroom or entryway with limited leg space, it is recommended that you go for a wall mounted coat rack as this will not take any leg room at all. If you have enough space and require something practical, you can choose a corner wall mounted coat rack. They come with numerous pegs and cabinets for storing other clothing asides from coats and hats. A standalone rack is the best option for you if you want to go for something simple but effective and not space-consuming. As for where to place your coat hanger stand, it depends on your needs. If you want it for your coats and hats only, it's ideal to put it in your entryway. However, a corner of your room will suffice if you want to keep other items like towels and scarves.
